Welcome - I am not long on here myself but this is the best place to learn about car PC. Just make sure to search first and ask second![]()
Just wanted to say "Hi" Seems to be a lot of good info here.
I've been wanting to install a computer in my Suburban for some time now.
I had no idea there was such a following for that kind of thing. I got onto the idea because Chevy makes this horrible little radio that cannot be replaced directly. Then it occurred to me that I listen to mp3s more than the crappy radio anyway, why not just plop in the extra mobo I have laying around. Then I started thinking of all the other fun things I could do to it...GPS, DVD w/multi monitor....
Well at least I see I'm in good company here!![]()

Welcome. A thick skin when people tell you to search is best. Persistence pays off. All the information you need to build a PC is here and more. If you are having trouble finding it, a simple post in the Newbie section like "What search terms should I use to find out about GPS software are best?"
Ignore smartass answers like "How about 'GPS + Software'?"
Check the FAQ emporium and read the mp3car.com etiquette an beginner's guides. They may seem a little arrogant, but ignore that and take the good advice in them.
Welcome. It's a fun hobby!

I noticed right from the start that there seems to be much emphasis placed on "searching" before "asking". It makes good sense, since a search can reveal your answer within minutes, but a proper response to a question that was unecessary could take days. Besides the amount of useful info on this site seems nearly endless.
