I begin my Carputer Journey

I've seen the name tossed around here a bit, and it is one of the few names I recognize when talking audio equipment. And I just come back to how sexy that amp would look lol =D

Now Im wondering mounting wise what to do. A standard box would work, but I wonder about removing my spare tire like lots do and sticking it underneath there, though that may not be good due to the vibrations and whatnot, they say those boxes are shaped right and whatnot so maybe I best stick with that.

However, behind the armrest in the backseat would be pretty cool if it fit, with the armrest down you'll see a nice treat and my only concern would be with someone sitting in that seat the vibrations might be annoying lol.

How much bass are you looking for? Do you want to rattle the mirrors off or just enough to feel a bit?

If your not going to really loud bass you might want to look into Bazooka, I have 2 ampliefed 8"s behind my seat and they hit pretty good. But of course this is in a truck. My wife has the Scion TC with the bazooka 6.5 in the back and it sounds real nice. Not head pounding but its really noticeable......

I should mention I got the first tube for $99 on sale @ Circuit City and the second for $69 open box specail @ Circuit city =) I think the model is EL8

Thank's I will look into that. Though if this is still available come purchase time the style factor is certainly winning here, the red amps and sub will go nicely with my red car =D

Tru but then again you can always have the tube color matched to the car

Just a suggestion with the stereo/audio system....

I purchased through Etronics.com, Ebay, and CarDomain.com the folling items and had them installed by a local shop. The whole project cost $700 including installation.

Lanzar VIBE211 (2channel 360W amp)
Lanzar VIBE411 (4Channel 600W amp)
Lanzar 1.2Farad Capacitor
StreetWires Dual Amp Kit (incl. distribution block, power wires, grounds, etc.)
JL Audio 10" subs with enclosure
Clarion DXZ555MP3 Head Unit

It ain't the greatest but it gets the job done. And I have it installed so that if I want to expand it won't be much of a problem. Before you jump into the stereo, make sure you do all the research you can because it'll save you $$$ down the road. Hope it helps, if it didn't sorry for wasting your time. Later
