    Powering External Harddrive

I have a 250gb Seagate External HardDrive (3.5") in a USB2.0 enclosure and I was wondering how I would power it...my plan was to use the Opus 150, but is it as simple as cutting off the AC adaptor and wiring it into the Opus? Then my next question, does the Opus come with the necessary connectors to do this?

I'm no pro, so I forget the name of the connector shown below. This connector comes with the Opus. Just wire in your external HD to the opposite connector and plug it in. You can get them at places like CompUSA.
Just be sure to get the polarity correct.

It depends on the power supply for your USB drive, and what voltages it puts out. It should say on the bottom of the power supply what it puts out.

    It says:
    Input :100-240Vac,.6A,50/60hz
    Output: +5V 1.5A
    +12V 1.8A

No need to use the power part of the enclosure... just use the opus to provide power to the HD. (like having a regular HD but apart of the system)

When you said enclosure you mean those plastic cases that you use to put a regular HD (comes with a short IDE cable and a male morex) right??

Just mod the case with a female morex and use the opus to power it... (use the same hole that is for the power cable)

Same one..... just forget about the power part of it and mod a female morex using one of the existing holes.
