    Very new, few questions

I am new to this, however, not to building things or electronics. Few questions before I start. My car is a 2005 Suzuki Aerio.

    1) Power. I see you need a certain type of PSU and inverters but where do you put the plugs and such? Do you need to take apart the dash? Will warrenties of any kind be voided?

    2) What is a good monitor to use from the 6-9 inch range, not from ebay.

    3) Where can I buy power buttons to put on the motherboard?

    1. For Power, the best is an Opus. Other people use Carnetix, M1-ATX, and then there is the good old fashioned inverter which also works well for some people. As for the plugs, you will use molex connectors to run wiring from the power supply to the motherboard, dvd drive, etc. The Opus and other similar power supplies should be connected directly to the battery

    2. The two most popular monitors are Xenarc and Lilliput

    3. You will not need power buttons if the use an Opus or somthing similar. They automatically startup and shut down with the car...

Good luck...check out the FAQ section and search for the terms I have used for more details.

You will open your dash. You will most likely void any warranties on equipment you have. Welcome to car computing!

First, read some of the threads in the FAQ section, like "How to wire your Opus" or "Typical car wiring diagram".

Run a wire from battery to the Opus or whatever you decide. Make sure you reseach the gauge of wire needed and put a fuse close to the battery.
