Power inverter

I just hooked up my power inverter its about 140 watts i think, its hooked to a 40 amp fuse. Its powering an xbox. The xbox runs for a while then after a while, it says fault and makes a beeeeeeeeeeeeeep sound and shuts the xbox off? Any idea why?

By the way i had a problem liek this before but it was only when i turned my neon lights on that the inverter would go into fault. Now i got the inverter coming directly off the battery so that problem is gone. but im still getting the fault after a few minutes?

wait, so are you running neon lights and your xbox off a 140watt inverter, or just the xbox?? If you are both, trying unplugging the neon lights and just leaving the xbox plugged in. The inverter might just be overloading.

Is it 140watts sustained or peak? It's possible it can't handle a high load for extended periods of time. Check the specs.

I'm willing to bet that the manual for the inverwe would tell you exactly why.
You're overloading the inverter, surely.

Do you have the car running with the inverter?

Also, I think 140 watts is way too small for an XBOX. It probably needs a 200-300watt. PS2 might work on 140, though.
