you guys are a bit crazy??

I have decided to wire it the right way. If I canīt do it my self, Iīll just have a friend help me out.

I havenīt been able to find a good touchscreen with 16:9 format, over 7". Anyone know where I can find one? 8-10" with 16:9 and touchscreen would have been real nice.

For those who cares: VW says (also writen in the manual) that the 12V connector in the car should be use with max 120Watt

good news on the 12V supply but as I said...and I say again....and again.....and again....thos ciggy lighter connectors are crap. Who cares how good your wiring is if you have a bad connection somewhere.

As for a 8-10" 16:9 screen - you will have a job fitting a 9" 16:9 as the screens start getting very wide. The only sceens I have seem like that are laptop screens (dont even ask why you should not use one) or regular RCA/svideo (at best) screens.

Also, if you do get a screen like that good luck getting a TS overlay for it.

Iīm not gonna use the 12V cig connector, even though 120W spec. by VW sounds realy good (they always under spec a lot).

Since Iīm gonna put the screen on top of the panel, i can "easily" fit a 10" 16:9 screen. But since there doesnīt seam to be any good 16:9 touchscreens over 7" I guess I have to settle for a Xenarc 7" at mp3car.com or a MM400 at cartft.com

I have seen the MM400 in action, and it seams nice. I havenīt seen the Xenarc in action, but itīs more expensive and the Q is, is it better?

Also want to add, that I really appriciate all the answars Iīm getting!

    Smart man.
Do it right or don't do it all.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
