2002 Blazer Screen install and placement

Hey guys I have a 2002 Blazer and I'm trying to learn about this carputer stuff. I really want one but my biggest concern is where to put the screen and what size will fit. I have what I think is a double din opening where my radio is now...Here is a picture of it

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it cause I would like to start this project as soon as possible. I'm a PI and sit in my car all day long and this would be a big help.

There enough room in there for a monitor. But a clearer picture would certanly help to see how to actually mould it in.

Blazers have 1.5 DIN. I have been trying to get my 10.4" in there. Good luck...

Would a 7" or 8" fit?

And I think the 02 blazers have a double din because they are the same radios as the trailblazers. My opening is 4" x 7 1/4" approx.

A 7" should fit. First thing you have to do is get one of those DIN adapters for aftermarket stereos. You'll build the screen bezel from there.

looks like a 7" would fit great, just get off your butt and do it :P

get the dimensions for the monitor you want, then compare how it would fit in the dash. It looks like it would fit in possibly without touching the vinyl part of your dash if you just took out the stock head unit, but you can't tell till you measure. If not, it might look weird molded in because of the material of your dash, but I'm sure you'll think of something.
