Help Pioneer DEH-P5650MP IP-BUS convert to RCA ?

I did the changes to connect my Mini-iPod-4Gb to a Pioneer head with CD-Changer like this guy have done: http://www.gutterslide.com/ip-bus_hack

My Pioneer type is DEH-P5650MP installed at My Toyota Corolla 1993.

Unfortunately, I couldn't hear anything because the head do not change to "AUX”, when I push the power. It acts as I haven't a CD-Changer in the car. I think I should connect other pin to say to the head to listen to the CD-Changer input.

Can anybody help me?....

I am very eager to connect my Ipod Mini 4Gb to the my car Pioneer Audio Systems, because in my country, Indonesia, South East Asia, the Pioneer IP-BUS to RCA Aux-Input connector was very-very-expensive??...

You will have to consult the manual for your particular model, which is available online at pioneer's website if you do not have it. Basically, it should involve bringing up the unit's setup menu and turning on the auxilary input, then it will be one of the input "sources."

I've tried to read the DEH-P5650MP manual several times, but it stated, it will [B]automatically detect the IP-BUS (input device) if there is a Multi-CD-Changer connected. Like the Single-CD-Player built-in, it will not detected if there is no CD inserted....

I am doubt if the http://www.gutterslide.com/ip-bus_hack was UN-MATCHED with my Pioneer DEH-P5650MP type ??

Any other idea to help me ??

turn off the unit. press function button until a menu comes up. scroll through it until you see the AUX option and turn it from OFF to ON than exit and turn your radio on. it should than show up when you press the source button. also when i said turn off the the unit make sure the car is on and the unit is gettitng powerr. to turn it off i mean press the source button until it powers down and just shows the time or something liek that.

Hey everyone. I thought I would just let you know how this went. I used plugs from “un-used (OLD)” motherboard that I got for free from my friend. Then I bought a mini jack to RCA cord, It cost me Rp. 12,500.00- …Indonesian Rupiah, (Around USD 1.25), very-very cheap, and it is normal for our country.

I just enabled AUX to “ON” position as suggested and described by EsKAlaD, (I found out on the manual, page-40), and it worked perfectly.

As last night I do not have enough time to connect and soldering the diagrams, …so..
I have a plan to do it by this Saturday or Sunday, used the diagrams linked in this thread to wire it all up, and will put it all in my car-audio Pioneer DEH-P5650MP.

Based on my opinion, it should be works perfectly…hopefully, and I will let you know later on.

Hey Shizzle and EsKALad, I would just let you know how this went. After enabled the AUX to “ON” position, it worked smoothly.

But,.... the volume is a little bit a drop, but it is okay by turn the volume higher.

Or is there is any other way to do "something" beside turn the volume "higher" ??

IN your manual, it will tell you how to adjust the AUX-IN line level. I can't remember what they call it or how to do it, but it is there....

If I remember correctly, it starts at 0 and goes to +43 or down to -43 (or something like that.... Don't go all the way up to the highest level, but just under. Otherwise you may get slight distortion in the line.... At least that is what happens on mine....not the same model, but a pioneer.....
