I have a normal size at the moment (never had an issue with robustness), but was going to use laptop drives i my new system, but am finding them pretty slow to boot up, not sure if it is the system or the drives. So I may go back to normal size.
Im getting some stuff together for my first car computer and was wondering if you could use normal desktop hd's instead of laptop hd's. i know the laptop ones are more robust (well they should be) but what if i need more storage than 100 gigs? Physical size doesnt matter im making a custom case. Thoughts?

awsome, thanks
The differance in durability is not an issue. If you need smaller for power consumption or physical size then use the 2.5" otherwise save the money and get 3.5
Lots of desktop drives in use without any problems.

The only reason I will get a 2.5" HD is its size.
