Motorized flip out Dell 12" monitor

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for making a mechanism to extend the monitor from a Dell 700m out of a dash and then move into the vertical position. If I lived in a safer area, I would just do a flush mount, but this is Bmore. Any suggestions or guides to other threads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

None successfully done, but there are commercially available and NOT for 12".
    The most is 7".
Do you really have room in the dash area for a 12 incher?

This is a big SUV, without fuel injection computers or newer gadgets, so it's pretty empty back there. I'm making my own wood dash too (it's a Woody) so I can plan around the mechanism needed. Unfortunately it cannot just pop straight out of the dash, my window is slanted just a bit too much. And that would negate a lot of room behind the dash.

I happened to have used a 700m in my install... I wasn't going for flip out though.... but from my experience with this laptop I can definatly see how I would have done this had I wanted to..... one thing to keep in mind with this before you go much deeper in this project is that the stock 700m screen may look great indoors, but take it out to the car & play with it during the day before chopping it up.... the screen stock is pretty dim...
