    Motherboard opinion needed.

First let me state my goals for my CarPC: MP3's, DVD, Internet, GPS, AM/FM Radio, XM or Sirius Radio, Touch Screen, Console Emulators, OBDII Data Logging.

Ok now to the first of what will be many future questions:

Is there any reason why this MoBo would not be a good option for a carPC

    DFI G5M100-N Pentium M Mini-ITX Motherboard

    Any insight would be appreciated.

For me, it wouldn't be a viable solution because the price is in GBP, which means the vendor is in the UK somewhere. With exchange rates the way the are and exorbitant shipping rates to the USA, this motherboard from this vendor would be a no-go for me.

For anyone else, particularly those in the UK, it's a good choice.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I'm not sure if the audio card can output dolby 5.1, for your dvd stuff. I like the pentuim M but you might still need a few fans (so keep that into consideration)

I personally like the ability to have pcmcia and compact flash (with Via's MII) instead of a ton of USB ports. It also has SPDIF and dolby digital 5.1.
Progress [I will seriously never be done!]
    Via EPIA MII
    512MB RAM
    OEM GPS (embedded)
    nLite WinXP pro on
    1GB Extreme III CF card
    Carnetix 1260 startup/ DC-DC regulator
Software: Still, re-Writing my existing front end in .Net

mini-itx.com is in the u.k. It's a good board though. You also might want to check out some of the ibase boards.

In the upper right corner of the screen there is the option to choose your currency. It comes out to $268us. So aside from that, I guess that the board seems ok.

The onboard audio isn't really a concern for me. If it is not up to par I guess I can go with a USB solution.

I would try to stay away from USB as much as you can. USB with hibernation or resume can be flaky at times... (This is of course if your planning on using these features)

IntellaWorks, would you recommend the MoBo in your sig for my application? Would it be able to handle my requirements?

What do you think about the DFI855GME-MGF/Pentium-M 725 (1.6A) combo? Available for $402 at Monarch (http://tinyurl.com/dt59p) Price is $190 for the mobo alone. Key difference, of course, is that this is micro-ATX instead of rebel's mini-ITX.

Can anyone confirm that this setup would only draw 27W? (Or tell me how much it would)
