    rookie here

Found your site thru another car site, and I have decided a carputer is my next mod. I am not looking for anything fancy, as of right now, I just want something that will play tunes, and possibly GPS. I am looking at a lap top w/p3-450 I have that has a busted screen its got 256 ram, 12 gig HD, cd-rom and a wireless card.
I was thinking of gutting it and putting it in the trunk, with the cd-rom mounted in the dash, getting a touch screen and mounting it in the dash.
I thought that a fm tuner card would take care of the radio..now as to sound, can you upgrade the sound card on a laptop? Was thinking of running it straight to the factory amp in the car. Figure the stock one in the laptop won't be all that great...
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated....Mike D

ps. the car is a 99 Chrysler Intrepid ES

Welcome! Sounds like you are going to need an amp to power your stock speakers.
