Found your site thru another car site, and I have decided a carputer is my next mod. I am not looking for anything fancy, as of right now, I just want something that will play tunes,and possibly GPS. I am looking at a lap top w/p3-450 I have that has a busted screen its got 256 ram, 12 gig HD, cd-rom and a wireless card.
I was thinking of gutting it and putting it in the trunk, with the cd-rom mounted in the dash, getting a touch screen and mounting it in the dash.
I thought that a fm tuner card would take care of the radio..now as to sound, can you upgrade the sound card on a laptop? Was thinking of running it straight to the factory amp in the car. Figure the stock one in the laptop won't be all that great...
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated....Mike D

Welcome! Sounds like you are going to need an amp to power your stock speakers.
the car has a factory 120 watt amp and I have a 2x10 sub with 900 watts waiting to go in....as to info...usb sound cars, want somrthing that the touch screen can control.....lots of research and reading to begin
