    random power offs

I have been dealing with this issue for a while now. Anytime I use my carPC for longer than an hour the computer usually will start to lockup for a split second while playing music and keep playing after a second or so. after it does this for a short while(5-3 secs), I can hear the computer shut off and come right back on very much like a short black out with my home PC only the lilliput screen stays black like it isnt getting signal. If I kill the master power and restart all is fine. Does this sound like a heat issue, or like my PSU is dropping voltage?

    any info would be great.

    Thanks

It could be either, but I'm inclined to think it's an overheating issue, since the PC locks up. Usually if it's a power issue (although not always), the PC will simply shut off.
The time is predictable, as well, which indicated that it's taking an hour for whatever problem you have to manifest itself. That's another indicator of an overheating issue.

It could also be a weak battery that take an hour to drop below the level of charge needed to keep the PC up and running.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I have thought about the battery issue as well, but I have installed a yellow top 2 weeks ago, PC can survive crank but still shuts off after the time frame. I have had an overheating issue with this mobo when it was my home system and I thought it gave a beep prior to shutting down from heat protection. To test the heat issue I will run my AC on floor to see if it helps. Is there a way I can test my PSU?

Easiest way is on another mobo.
