    Greetings from a noob!

    Hey all, just throwin a wave to say hi, and take a moment to introduce myself (and thank all the "senior members" for their informative input). I got this whole idea for a carputer way back about the time when Chris Bergeron did his, but never had a car that I thought was worth a carputer. Anyway, I've been checking in on this site periodically since I found it, and just recently decided to get a username.

    I currently make my living as a Network Admin/Engineer, before that I was in digital electronics and before that I was a professional car-fi installer. So I've convinced myself that I should be able to pull this off and make it look and function as well as any OEM piece.

    I'm in the planning stages right now, buying stuff here and there and putting stuff together just to see how this works with that. My goal is to have basically the same as most people have (in their completed systems, not in their dream systems), keeping in mind there's a difference between fantasy and reality.

    I still have much to learn about what works and what doesn't, what I'll eventually run into and what's practical. So for now, I'm gonna hang out in the background, banging the hell outta the function and gleaning posts whenever I can. Glad I'm the one that scans the firewall logs at work

    Who the hell is Chris Bergeron?

    1. A hockey player?
    2. Vice President of Client Services, InScope Corporation?
    3. Monster Truck Driver?

    My best guess is number 4.
