Audigy 2 is a popular choice. You should be fine with it.
I have a Fujitsu 2.5" drive that works reliably.
Welcome and have fun.
Hey all!!! My name is Justin. I'm new to this community but I've been reading threads for a few weeks now. Let me just say, "This community ROCKS!" I'm by NO means a computer guru. However I am an avid audiophile and have great knowledge of automobile electronics. My main reason to take this project on is because I can tune my car's ECM via laptop, but it's a pain to haul it out to the car and hook it up. So....here's what I'm planning:
Car: 99 Eclipse GSX AWD Turbo
VIA EPIA MII
Creative Labs Audigy 2
60GB 2.5" HDD -Brand Advise???
USB CD-R/DVD Slot Load Combo remote mounted in dash -Brand Advise???
USB Wireless G
Monitor -TBD, I'm not sure if I want to use the Double Din space or a Flip Out.
For audio quality, is the Audigy 2 a good choice? Am I missing anything? Any advise you computer guru's can give to a computer-illerate will be greatly appreciated.
looks good. Where are you putting it?
Progress,.... that is what I keep forgetting ;)

I'm leaning towards making a custom bezel to put a screen where the factory radio was. Right now I've got an Alpine flip-out HU where the center vents used to be. I like the location of it there because it's more eye-level but it's really hard to see when I have my sunroof open. As far as the carputer itself, I'm torn. I have just enough room under my passenger seat after I remove the cd-changer. I'm just worried about my girlfriend getting snow on it in the winter. I could put it in my trunk, but I'd have to re-build my entire amp/sub rack system. I'm leaning towards putting it in the trunk. I'll just put a USB CD-R/DVD combo in the dash for easy accessability.Originally Posted by Haystack
