    universal video cards

    Are all video cards universal with all computers and motherboards?

    Mostly.

    There are many types of video cards. PCI , AGP /2x/4x/8x and PCI Express 16x. As long as the mother board has the same type slot for the video card then it should work correctly. Most older computers upuntill a few months ago use agp 4x / or the fast 8x. And those motherboards can also support pci video cards, same slot as lets say a sound card or network card. Newer motheboards mostly intel or 64 bit amd based used pci express video cards.
