Here are my ideas...what do you guys think?

My wife has a 2005 Mercury Mariner. I have wanted to install a carputer for the longest time and I think b/c of the size of this car it would be the easiest to do.

I have found a couple of pieces of equipment that I was thinking about using, but I wanted to see what you guys thought of it first...

This would allow me the touchscreen functions and well as the computing functions that I need to be able to do things like GPS, Wi-Fi, etc.

I have purchased from this company before and they are pretty good (had one order get stuck in customs b/c of some missing paperwork). The prices aren't that bad either.

Again...I'm just a noob with some ideas.

I have the very same unit in my jeep.
A temporary measure until I save enough to do my carputer properly

Hate to break this to you but you will not be able to control a computer with it, unless you find a way to hack into the t/s.
Its an "all in one unit" sort of thing.
It doesn't have any kind of connector on it for sending the t/s presses to another place.

BTW the tv tuner is poor even when hooked up to my house aerial the picture was crap.

1) That screen doesn't have VGA input. That means you'll need Composite video out, which that Capuccino has. Don't expect image clarity using non VGA input.

2) The Cappucino has very limited expandibility. Be prepared for that.

3) That reseller has a **** reputation. They may have improved serive, but I don't know. An overall rating of 0.85 isn't someone I'd consider doing business with. If you've purchased from ehem before and feel they're OK, then go for it.
