Opus Wiring Diagram Question?

I was looking at this post: FAQ: How to Wire an OPUS PSU and I’m planning to follow the wiring diagram that has an amp in it (I will be using distribution blocks as shown).

My question is basically do I have the “right” 10 gauge wire? Here is a picture for reference:

When I previously installed a car amp in my old car the install kit came with a wire that was probably about the size of the 8mm wire shown above. The 10 gauge wire I have is approximately the size of the 5mm wire listed above. Is that about the right size? And if so the 10 gauge will go to the distribution block and 10 gauge will also go to the amp and the OPUS?

I was just expecting a much larger wire, so I wanted to make sure I had the right stuff.

The wire that came with the kit was probably 8 gauge wire, remember smaller the gauge number the thicker the wire.
If you going to be using a distro block like you said then I would suggest you use 4 gauge wire from the battery to the distro block. And from the distro block use 10 gauge wire to connect to the opus and probably 8 gauge wire for the amp (this will depend on the amp, look at your manual it will tell you what wire size to use).

Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!! 10 Gauge seemed too small to me, but in the wiring diagram it didn't show or say anything different.

I think I'll add your quote to the wiring diagram post so others know too!

I suggested you to use 4 gauge wire from the battery, but you might need bigger. I don't know what your specs are or who much power your system will need, but many people use 4 gauge. I myself used 0 gauge(not really needed) but I have posibility to upgrade in the future.
