    Newbie Question: Full-Size ATX

    Hey,
I am having difficulty locating threads relating to full size ATX motherboard installations. Basically I just want to know if it is feasable to install such a motherboard and whether I could power it from one of the many DC-DC PSUs I have seen advertised.

Is the PSU connector on an ATX board the same as on an ITX or micro-atx?

I am guessing it would suck more power than a mini-itx or micro-atx?

The motherboard will most probably have just 1 HDD on the IDE bus, and a PCI graphics card with TV-out, and maybe one more PCI card like GPS or something.

    Thanks for your help!

    Vince.

Probably, it's not just the mobo, but also the higher power CPU.

There are power calculators that will tell you what various systems will draw. Search for "power calculator"
