    no headunit rca noise

i am about a month from installing my carpc. i built my system myself from a computer i had around the house. i am waiting for my opus and 8in touchscreen. anyway i plan to use a four channel and a two channel amp for sound, no headunit. i know people have done this but i am worried about rca noise. has anyone had this problem? what have you done to correct this?

oh yeah my one and only battery is in the trunk. this is why i am worried.
    thanks

I am running a carputer with no head unit and my battery is in the trunk as well. I am also running a four channel and a two channel amp. I was initially using a usb sound card with rca cables going to my amps and was getting all sorts of noise...i then moved all of my ground leads (amp ground, pc ground) to the negative terminal on my battery and that helped a lot. My next step was to place my soundcard in the trunk right next to my amp so that I could run short rca cables to minimize induced noise...that worked. I had no more noise in my speakers. You shouldn't be worried about rca noise as long as you are able to keep the cable length to a minimum as well as ensure that you get rid of any ground loops.

My advice is to take your time with the install and make sure you do everything to the best of your ability in terms of lay out. Once you have the system up and running, you can then trouble shoot any problems you notice. The people on this forum are very helpful and have helped me on many different occasions...good luck
