    My first post/ Setup

Well, this is the sytem i am putting together.

    i guidance (aka iNAV) (http://www.inavcorp.com/)
Rikaline GPS 6010 X5 Mouse GPS Receiver (http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/rikaline-gps-6010-x5.php)
    Liliput 7" screen
    BIOSTAR M7NCG 400 Socket A (Socket 462) NVIDIA nForce2 IGP Micro ATX
    AMD Moblie XP 2200+ 35w
    Seagate 180g hard drive
Minuet II Life Style Slimline mATX Case
    (http://www.microcenter.com/byos/byos...uct_id=0226876)
512 DDR memory ( i need some if you have some for sale!)
Opus psu (looking for one new or used)
    Not sure on cd/dvd rom

This is only about a day and a half in the making, so bare with my ignorance. I am buying the MB and Cpu and screen from a guy locally. I dont know the specs on this board. I also am not sure what power source to be running, i have heard a lot of good things on teh opus solutions power supplies. But not sure what is overkill and good for this setup. The real reason i want this is for Navigation, some mp3's and some dvd's. I am very new to this car setup stuff, i have built my own home pc's. Any feedback would be great, postive or negative. Thanks for looking, this is a great site!!!

ok, i have to ask. I have been reading about the opus psu and i just want to know what psu i should use. obviosly i should use the 150w, but if the 120w will serve the purpose i would rather not spend the extra money. The reason i ask, is i have looked at a lot of peoples set ups and some of them are running way more then i am, but running a smaller power supply.

I don't know about that one as I've never used it. There are some review on it in the reviews forum though.

You should look at the output voltages on each of the rails (it's important!) and featuresets of the two units to determine which one is going to meet your needs.
The Opus units have an excellent reputation for reliability.
The M2-ATX is a much newer product. Typically the M1ATX (it's lower-wattage predecessor) is a reliable unit as well.

    The M2ATX provides 8amps on the 12v rail. (96w)
The Opus 150w provides 5amps on the 12v rail (60w)
That's important for figuring out the maximum CPU you can run.

The amperage on the 5v rail is also important to determine how many 5v devices you'll be able to power. This would include slim optical drives, USB hubs, 2.5" HDDs, USB devices like GPS, etc.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

whoa you lost me on the that one darque, but thats ok ill figure it out. i really think i am going to go with the opus unit for its startup, shut down, and hibernate functions. unless i can get the same with the m2 unit. i just want safe shut down and start up. if the m2 will do that ill get it.

I wouldn't go with the Rikaline. Look into a SiRFIII chipped gps reciever. Other than that...everything looks good!~
