It will work but the problem is transfer rate. Wifi is much faster at doing the same thing wirelessly.Originally Posted by Daewoo69

The other issue is the range of bluetooth. Most bluetooth devices have a max range of 10 meters (about 30 feet), and that max range is without any physical barriers. So if your PC is in the car with it's bluetooth dongle and the PC is in the house, you're going to have to deal with the sheetmetal of the vehicle, the walls of your home, as well as anything else that might be between the carPC and the home PC.
It's hardly a practical means of transferring files for that reason alone.
Hell, with the bluetooth headset for my phone, If I'm on the phone (which is sitting on my desk) and I go into the pantry (about 15 feet away, but behind a wall), I start getting breaking up.
EDIT:Darque: Beat me to it, didn't even see your reply
Don't use it.....it's just too slow and the range is very short (unless your desktop is really close to your car. Use wifi or a USB memory stick or harddrive.

if your car is close enough to your desktop to use bloothtooth, you might as well use a crosswired CAT5 cable![]()
Yeah,
he wouldn't have to drive in to his living room![]()
The reason i asked , is that the blue tooth fob that i have claims that it has a range of 100metres. Will look at wifi
Still, the problem with transfer rate exists.Originally Posted by Daewoo69

When I need to transfer couple GB of data, I just use my external USB drive. Other than that, wifi or my 100f crossover cable.
