    Critique My Planned Setup

Ok, I think Im ready to take the plunge, and just want some suggestions on my setup. Ive been searching for like a month, so Im not a total n00b. I want the system to play dvds, run my GPS, and play mp3's (who doesnt). I think the biggest strain would come from runnin the GPS and mp3 at the same time.

    Mobo - M10000
    Ram - 512 mB
    HDD - 2.5 Laptop drive (40-60 gb)
Screen - Lilli or Xenarc TSV
GPS - Already have the BU-353
DVD - still undecided (Is slot load worth the extra $$)
Case - Build own from plexi/acrylic
    Power Supply - M1-ATX
    Wifi - USB or PCMCIA?
Mini Keyboard suggestions? ( I saw that tiny playstation one, pretty cool converted to USB)

    Anything Im forgetting?

    Thanks

Sounds a lot like mine. Works fine. I have the earlier PSU and ITPS rather than the M1-ATX.

I use a CF GPS receiver in a PC card adapter in the PC card slot of my MII-10000 mobo. Couldn't get it to work straight in the CF slot. I have an external GPS antenna on the back of my roof and routed the thin wire to the PC in the front. GPS and MP3 works fine at the same time.

I have a USB WiFi adapter that I plug in when I want to be connected. Right now, that's only been in my driveway when doing various updates. I have dreams of a USB-based wireless broadband Internet connection at some point.

slot load is worth it if you were to fab it into, say, the dash. otherwise It'll be with your carputer in a generally hard to reach place.
