What Do I Need For The Brains Of My Car PC?

i plan to play music, movies and possibly use the internet in the future. im looking at lilliput touchscreens? r these any good or is there something out there thats better?

BRAINS:
Hard drive
RAM
CD/DVD drive
what else?????

You have two options:
- Buy a prebuilt unit like StreetDeck.
- Learn how to build a PC from components.

A vehicle computer is just like another computer with a few significant differences:
1) It neds to run off 12v DC power in teh car instead of 110v (220v in Europe) in your home.
2) It needs to be small enough to fit in your vehicle.
3) It needs accomodations for potential climate extremes (extreme cold in Minnesota, extreme heat in Dallas, for example)

You'll need a motherboard, for starters, and a car power supply in addition.

Motherboard: You can get everything you are asking for all in one nice, neat package with a Via Epia M13000. The M10000 will also do what you want.

If you want better sound, get an audigy USB to go with it.
