Thread: newb Just starting 92 toyota 4x4 suggestions

ok first of all i am obsessed with this kinda stuff going into ee but i haven't finished my associates so knowlege is at a min.
where do i start
this is what i have. the questions i have, is it adaquete, don't want to drain my battery, want is simple enough for my ditsy girlfriend to run and im putting it ,along with my sub and speaker amps, in an aluminim tool box. and i do off road!!!!

i have a 550 mhz p3 board , don't know a whole lot about computers
i have a 200 watt power supply
i have a 250 watt inverter i plan on useing, im kinda cheap
i plan on getting or makeing an sdc
i plan on running everything usb, i work at best buy usb is cheap for me
not sure about a moniter, i want touchscreen but xenarc or lilliput? is there a big difference?
rooms not an issue
one place i am stuck at is power

can i go dc right from my battery, through resistors of course,
i have a buddy that knows his **** when it comes to that kinda stuff
please correct me if i am stupid or am doing it the wrong way.
