The polite thing to do would be to read around, do research on your own, and THEN come asking questions.

It gets pretty boring just answering the same questions over and over and over again, especially when they are such simple questions but have such involved answers.
I did multiple searches but couldn't find a word for word tutorial. I was unaware that this forum doesn't search multiple subjects as a default, as I didn't pay close enough attention at the time. I have since found a thread that assists me with everything I need to know (hopefully). It's my opinion that linking me to such a thread (as a user above did) is not a involved answer, as I didn't request information directly from your mouth....just someone else's words if the info was already available.

The guy already admitted defeat and wanted the thread deleted as to not clutter the forum.

I've read this site for 6 months before getting serious about a project now.
My issue stems from the fact that while many have a good time about it, or go for the compromise of giving info and the obligatory bashing (to stop the rash of unneeded repetitive posts), there are those that go overboard with it. I'm not concerned so much solely with the feelings of the guy being bashed, but more the idea of what this community and board could/should look like. Upping an already complete thread to let someone know they are a noob is plain old post whoring and adds nothing.

I've got 5 posts (wooh), so I'm sure that I'll be disregared in this aspect, but since I'm now finally starting a project after reading silently for so long, I'll just be adding my 2 cents as well

But isn't your reply a testament to the n00b bashing? I mean - you never posted until you were sure what you wanted to ask hadn't been covered before. After searching, and seeing some of the finer bashes this forum had to offer, I was terrified to post. So I made damn sure that my post was necessary. If n00b bashing can prevent just one person from posting before thoroughly searching, then bash on, bashers.

That's a good point. Everyone deserves a good bashing at least once, then they should turn into bashers to carry on the tradition.

ah, some good ol' noob bashing ...
no offense, but just have to throw this out there ...
there are 1200 threads and 15,000 posts in the "Fabrication" forum, I would think that one of them would have the info you seek.
