    Connecting speakers to computer

After reading some of the FAQ's I now know how to identify all of the speaker wires and the 12 volt wire. My car has 8 speakers, so I understand that I will have 8 pairs of speaker wires? Once I cut all of these wires, what do I use to connect the speakers to my laptop? Will the stock amp still function as it did before? Thanks in advance for the help, and please dont flame me!

Huh? What do your speakers plug into now? Why not just run the pc sound through the amp or headunit? Am I missing something?

Why don't you look up a schematic for the audio system of your car?
There are several possible configurations for driving the eight speakers. You need to find out how it's configured to determine how to drive everything.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

As far as I know, the shaker 500 system would only have 4 pairs of speaker wires coming to the dashboard connector(FL, FR, RL, RR). The 2 rear signals go directly to the 2 speakers in the rear deck. In the front each signal drives 2 speakers each: one midrange and one tweeter on each side(they use a built-in passive crossover). That accounts for 6 of your 8 speakers. The last two are the woofers in the doors. Each woofer has its own separate amplifier and is driven by a low-level (pre-out) signal from the head unit.**

The easiest way to connect your computer is using the AUX-IN adapter for your factory head unit:

If you want or need to remove the factory head unit, you will need to buy an amplifier to drive the speakers (4 channel probably). You may also want get this harness adapter to make the connections easier:

I hope this answers your question.
    Peace.

**Note: I cannot guarantee that this information is completely correct as I have not seen the wiring diagram for this car. I would recommend getting a radio wiring diagram for your car if you plan do anything with the factory system.

You might want to check out the wiring diagram I came up with for my 06 stang with the shaker500. The headunit powers your 4 main speakers and the stock amps power your door subs. If you remove the headunit you will need a seperate amp.
