Get a SiRFIII receiver.
Folks around here speak highly of the BR-355 / BU-353 receivers.
I am an experienced noob with a few questions. Ok I have a Dell C610 laptop with the c dock 2. I wired a switch to the docking station for startup. I am using RR with IG. Got the software part perfected.
Getting a Lilliput 7" touchscreen with a gooseneck.
The only two questions I have are about car audio and gps device.
First car audio. I have a 94 chevrolet camaro with all stock speakers and no stereo (stolen). Basically what is the best way to get sound from my laptop to my speakers. And please don't tell me to search. I have spent the past 6 months reading and preparing for this. Should I get an amp? What kind of stereo (stock or aftermarket and what brand)? What else do I need to know?
Now GPS device. I have a holux gm-210 and it just isn't cutting it. Takes about 2 minutes to get a fix and loses signal fast in my hatch. So what is the best gps for under $100?
Thank you very much for all the help.

Well the laptop isn'y powerful enough to drive the speakers, so will need an amp. Then the question is do you want it to be a standalone amp, or one built into a HU. That's up to you. Just make sure the HU you get has an audio in, or it will be worthless for the car pc.Originally Posted by thunderdepot
