    Some Basic Help Please

    Hey guys,

I have some very basic questions to ask regarding the in-car pc I am going to put into my computer. The current set-up in my car is my Kenwood WDC-W4527 headunit and my amp and sub in the back hhowever I am purchasing my friends in car pc system and just wanted some advice on how it would be suitable to connect the whole system together.

His current set-up involves splitting the output from the sound card and running to the aux-in of his stereo, was just wondering if anybody could shine some light onto how I can connect to my stereo as after insepction of the spec of my hu (found here - http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/stock01/kdcw4527.asp) I am unable to see how it would connect although the spec claims it "accepts auxiliary input lead to connect iPod, walkman etc." - and i can only assume this is via the DIN shapped socket on the back of the head unit.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Thanks

usually, there's a CD-changer connection ont he back of the headunit. If that's the case, then you need some sort of adapter unit to allow use of an iPod (or whatever) through the CD changer input on this headunit.
Talk to a local car stereo shop or Google your headunit model and AUX and you should be able to find what you need.

thanks mate, I have had a look on the kenwood website and have found this cable here http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/stock01/auxin.asp

I shall try and find my local car stereo shop and see if this is the correct part, I just prefer getting information from forums as generally people know more on here than in shops.

Thanks again for the quick reply

I'm not the expert on car audio, mind you. I have just seen enough of other people having similar problems on these forums that I understand what is needed.
    Good luck!
