    we are talking about the cdroms external power supply plug that was a usb right (there was usb and ps2)?

    hmmm there should be:

    red: +5vdc
    black: gnd
    white: -data
    green: +data

    but if not, and we are talking about the usb plug, and those are the only two wires, then yes, red should be your positive and white your ground.

    Thanks guys. Its working. Now if i can just work out the dvd / rr problem.
