I want to solve the problem of my car pc cutting of whenever I start my car. Will I need a capacitor to do this?? If so how many farads do I need??

please describe your equipment? most epia power supplies, like the m1/m2-atx and opus can survive cranking. how new is your battery?

if you're running an inverter you should look into tank circuits (adding a wheel chair battery to help survive cranking)

I'm using one of those mini E-Vectra PCs being power directly from the battery by way of an inverter.
What I really want to do is locate the pc in my trunk, but I don't know how to connect a start up shut down controller.

i'm pretty sure, in order to survive cranking with an inverter you'll need a tank circuit. do a

I use an 700 watt (1000 watt max) vector inverter with an diehard gold battery and I survive cranking no problem. I just brought a startup/shutdown controller, but pretty confusing to me. I asked around about hooking it up but no one seemed to want to help
