    windows sound settings!?

ok i have set up my speakers to go from speakers -> amp -> carpc

but i plug in my sound via the 3 jacks in the rear of the pc.. only to get my rear speakers on.. i tried setting my windows sound setting to 5.1 but i still only get rear sound... any suggestions? BTW the 3 jacks are the green, blue, and red jacks...

You'll have to be a lot more specific about your hardware. First off, I can tell you that commonly:
    Green: Line out
    Blue: Line in
    Red: Mic in

So you have the input of your amp plugged into two of your computer's inputs. Both are expecting to hear sound from the other.
If your motherboard really does support 4 channel output then its possible, after changing some settings, to get output from either the blue or red jack - but we have no idea what kind of hardware you have.

The simple solution is to split the output from the green jack so it goes to all of your amp's inputs, as is shown in the first diagram HERE.

so you tried all three jacks and got sound to only the rears all three times?

something's not right here, need more information as Rawson stated.

ok i have a m10000 motherboard and a sony 5 channel amp.. i have my set up similar to the link you provided.. i got my sound to work with all 3 jacks via new drivers.. and some setup options in windows.. but now i get a crackling noise from my front speakers when i bass hits.. the crackling noise is minimal but still annoying.. i am running my stock bose speakers i'll post pictures of my setup later on tonight maybe that will help...

p.s. which ever output is plugged into the center jack <green> is louder then the other 2.. so if i plugged in my rear speakers into that jack it would be louder then the front and vice versa

have you pulled your door pannels off to check on the condition of those speakers? sounds like dey b blowd...

that's because the green jack IS the output jack.

something sounds whacked if you're getting sound OUT of the mic jack and input jacks...
