    Question Dual / Parallel Power

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but the search button didn't seem to acknowlege my quote marks. Would there be a problem in putting AC and DC power supplies in parallel?

I have a DC - DC power supply, but would like to include a regular PC power supply for times that I have access to AC. I'm afraid if I connect them in parallel it will damage wither the AC or DC side if I apply power to the opposite side.

Has anyone tried a setup like this, with or without some type of switching system?

I think it would be easier to make a uick disconnect for power, and have connectors both in-car and on an adapter for a HDD molex connector to use with an ATX PSU.
I made mine from a few bucks worth of parts and some soldering.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
