You can purchase an extension for the antenna with the proper connectors and everything. I have no idea whether antenna cable is shielded or not.
What do you mean by 'regular shielded cable' anyway?
Did search the forum but I couldn't find any good results..
Doing my carputer project and the radio will be relocated in the trunk. Therefore, the antenna cable must be extended from dash to the trunk space.
Question: Can I use a regular shielded cable for this purpose or will I need an antenna cable?

I would assume that the antenna is in the back, right? I'm curious, as i'm not farmiliar with the set up, but why not just disconnect the old antenna cable from the antenna itself, connect a second OEM cable and run that to the trunk. When you decide to sell the car, you do the old switchero. I mean, my infniti has a seperate jack fo the antenna in it and requires an adapter before getting to teh back of an aftermarket stereo. I'm not sure what you're running inside the beemer
Unless your'e talking about the Antenna cable that you can use a wiring harness with. Then you can, if you want to be lazy (being sarcastic) and are using the high level inputs for the stock amp, use the sheilded wires from a CAT5 networking cable to extend it to the trunk. That MIGHT work too
