    another newbie w. question

yes i know "oh boy another newbie w. probably the same questions"

    well yes.

i always wanted to this project and but wasnt ready until now but as slow as i am i need information and to be striaght up all this high tech stuff and talk gets me all confuse.

i havent purchase anything but hopefully you guys can direct me to the right places.

i was looking tours the mac mini.
    heres the spec on apple.com
    1.5GHz Intel Core Solo processor

    2MB L2 Cache

    667MHz Frontside Bus

    512MB memory (667MHz DDR2 SDRAM)

    60GB Serial ATA hard drive

    Combo drive (DVD-ROM/CD-RW)

Built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0

    Apple Remote

and will like to get the flip out monitor touch screen.

but the real question is what & where do i find a good power source. i dont want to fry nothing plus dont want to mess around with the electric in the car.
can i just put a AC/DC converter that plugs in the cigrate lighter to plug the mac mini? or is it more recommended to get the power dircetly somewhere else?

thanks for any input and its ok you can bash me for the question im new & will really like to do this mod to my car thanks

I have seen posts regarding the CarNetix P1900 as a good power supply for the MacMini. Check out carnetix.com and see their writeups on mini mac power. It may be the solution you are looking for...

EDIT: It does require a little bit of integrating into the car electrical system. Shouldn't be too hard though, or maybe look for a professional installer if you don't want to mess with the electrical stuff yourself.

Actually, there is a cable kit available in the mp3car.com store to use a Carnetix w/ a Mac Mini.

Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
