i always wanted to this project and but wasnt ready until now but as slow as i am i need information and to be striaght up all this high tech stuff and talk gets me all confuse.
i havent purchase anything but hopefully you guys can direct me to the right places.
i was looking tours the mac mini.
heres the spec on apple.com

and will like to get the flip out monitor touch screen.
but the real question is what & where do i find a good power source. i dont want to fry nothing plus dont want to mess around with the electric in the car.
can i just put a AC/DC converter that plugs in the cigrate lighter to plug the mac mini? or is it more recommended to get the power dircetly somewhere else?

I have seen posts regarding the CarNetix P1900 as a good power supply for the MacMini. Check out carnetix.com and see their writeups on mini mac power. It may be the solution you are looking for...
EDIT: It does require a little bit of integrating into the car electrical system. Shouldn't be too hard though, or maybe look for a professional installer if you don't want to mess with the electrical stuff yourself.

Actually, there is a cable kit available in the mp3car.com store to use a Carnetix w/ a Mac Mini.
