    comparison of GPS Software

Hey everyone. I'm currently in the process of planning out my carputer for my 2001 Nissan Altima and I was wondering if people had any suggestions on GPS software. I noticed in a lot of threads people said they were using iNav, but I couldn't find any threads comparing software. I already have a bluetooth GPS receiver that I use with my PDA/Cellphone, but I don't know of any decent software for the PC. Also my cellphone allows me to transfer GPRS internet service to a PC. Is it possible to find software that is capable of downloading traffic information and take it into consideration while planning routes. I saw an Acura commercial a while ago that advertised that feature, but I don't know if any PC software has those capabilities yet. Thanks for all of your help. Once I have a better idea what I'm doing to my car I will definately start a worklog.

Attention Newbies! Everything (almost) you want to know about GPS (Part 1)

"downloading traffic information and take it into consideration while planning routes" I don't know anyone who has that integrated yet (most mobile users don't have internet). I usually just download my local traffic maps and input my detours into iguidance by hand.

well between 1010 and 880 AM you can get traffic reports every 5 minutes. I think 1010 winds has a website where they post traffic info. tell me if you end up finding a good site though, I live near jones beach.

Mndot does a great job for me. I rely on this map daily:

    It updates every 1 minute.
