small amp for car

ok. after much reading i've come to the conclusion that i no longer want the liliput single din screen, but the xenarc one. But this leaves me with the problem that i no long have an amp, as the liliput one has a built in amp (or so i'm lead to beleave). I need an amp that can push the stock speakers in an impreza, (6; 2 tweeters, 2 front mid, 2 rear bass drivers) as i'm quite happy with their performance. What am I looking for?

im guessing the stock system is running 2ohm. how many watt does it say your car came with when you bought it. youll need to stick within an amp in that power range. and youll be looking for a 4 channel and a 2 channel for the subs. a 5channel. 4channel for in the car and then 1 larger channel for the subs. a 6 channel etc etc.

but the question is what are you building it for and how much you willing to spend to get it there. Price will be a very large factor on what the answer is to the question you asked.

ah ok, so i need 2 amps? how does the car push them at the moment? I assume head units have amps in them (i am quite fresh when it comes to this kinda stuff). Can you get amps that fit into single din slots?
Sorry if my sentences seem irratic, i'm trying to figure it all out in my head, price isnt an issue, if it costs more i'll just stop drinking and eat 2 minute noodles for a month

I'll check the wattage after work.

ahh sorry for the cunfusion, all my car is at this point stock, i'm still planning, and i cant stop thinking about it... Its my latest addiction.

When i read that i see 4 chennal 45w amp, am i wrong? At the moment i'm jsut using the factory head unit.

After reading alot of forum stuff i decided against it, I am at this point planning to buy a xenarc

ok first off thats freakin impossible. You cant have something that only uses less than 9 watts but has a 45watt amp built in. It must be some kind of typo or mean something else (maybe the speaker can handle up to 45watts from another source?).

well there prett much is no such thing short of a headunit for stock units you buy. However there are kits you can buy that will fit behind the dash, but they are kits and you need to assemble them and you need to know how to solder. You can get some good ones at www.41hz.com i would go for AMP3 bacuse it only uses 12volts and is great for car usage. They are 2x25watts RMS and are only $25 a pop. Did i mention they are DAMNED small? lol

4-track?

strange, I suppose that's the same as 4 channel? Surely they aren't meaning 4-track...like an 8-track...hehe

Anywho, I can promise that it doesn't put out 45 watts, probably more like 10 watts per channel on a regular basis (RMS).

It will power your stock speakers just fine.

Regarding the comments about a din sized amplifier. It sounds like you need a basic understanding of car audio before you go much further.

Thanks all, but that post didnt really help about din sized amps (or i could jsut suck at reading) But reguardless, after meditating on my options (again) i've decided to leave a head unit there, and just use the aux in for the PC, meaning less ****ing about and then i dont need to worry about FM tuners and such

I'll plan more, and i'll be sure to annoy you with another thread if i cant figure the problem in my head
