You need to know what audio chipset is used. Or what sound card is installed...
Are you a computer person?
This isn't really a newbie computer help forum, but I'll try to help.
Hi, we got a new computer a while back, and it didn't have an audio driver on it, as such I had to go through this long thing with one of my father's friends to figure out what to download and where, and I'm not sure I can figure it out again. What do I need to know to figure out what audio driver I need?
I'm definitely not very knowlegeble in this whole process. Thanks for trying to help though. Okay, I know all that information is on the back of my computer somewhere, any idea what it might be labeled as? Nother there says "Audio Chipset" or "Chipset" and I have no idea where to find out what sound card is installed.
>.> Wow, I'm really sorry. But thanks...![]()
Oh man...
You need to open up your computer and look inside.
BUT
Before you do that, what's the make and model of the PC?
And no, not all the information will be listed on the back... sorry.
Well, someone suggested I go to Medion's main website, there I entered in my serial number and it showed me an audio driver I could download, wouldn't that work too?
Depends, if that's how their site is set up, then yeah, that should work fine. Hence why I asked for make/model.
Well, thank you for your help ^_^ Sorry if I wasted some time.
No time wasted here, I'm just spacin off in my office anyway... love to help.
Let me know if it works.
Well, the problem is, it's downloaded, I just don't know where to go from there. I've clicked the installer, it says it's installed, but I'm stuck after that, and can't figure out why it's not reading that driver now. It just keeps saying "No Audio Device."
Post a link to what you downloaded so I can have a look.
