    Laptop LCD to VGA conversion

I am sure it's been asked before, but my searches don't turn up too much clarity.

So, how do I get an lcd screen from my HP ze1000 laptop to work as an external)plug and play) vga screen?

find out the type of connector you need for the laptop (lvds/forget the other one)

then basically once u have the connector, as far as i know its plug and play, but what ur gonna need to do first, is find out the model code of the panel itself, so that you can find a compatible connector

What turbocad6 said, and they are usually big big bucks.

There is a good FAQ here.

most of the times, it's not worth it, unless it happens to be a special panel...

most laptop screens are pretty dim...180-220nit's maybe, & not worth the effort & expense for use in a car..

im gonna be building a laptop screen into my car, but it'll basically be for night only anyway, so brightness isnt really an issue, lol

but arent YOU the one building a more special panel to put in your vehicle turbocad? lol
