    help newbie what to do

hI, I'm new as you can guess and hello, I need some good advice, i've gone the carputer way ,lillliput 80 gig hard drive 1 gig processor/512 ddr ram, its got the din size unit and dvd player/direct without having to use the pc side if needed and cdr writer.I also have bought a 7" vga touchscreen motorised incl tv tuner

now my car is a 300zxtt and has double din which are now full with pc and screen.

question??? whats the best set to go with what i have,
......do I keep my stereo and hide carputer/or buy sound card and radio card and sell car stereo leaving carputer as direct access for playing dvd/cds

as i'm just about to sell my old head unit sonycdmx9900 with aux input
as i've read that a lot of people use their old car stereo with aux in for radio
    and sound system,
    help

first off, we have a newbie section for threads like this, please use it.

second, we have an FAQ section with a ton of useful information that you need to read. People here don't take kindly to answering questions when the person asking hasn't done their homework, so spend some time reading so you can ask informed questions.

third, your entire question seems to be a matter of personal preference. Read the FAQ's, and look at other people's projects, and then you will have a better idea of what you want to do; nobody else can tell you what the "best" solution is.
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:

    moved to the newbie forum....

regarding begging for help because you're crunched on time....sorry - but that right there tends to turn me off to helping, I'm sure it turns a lot of other people off as well.

The short and sweet of it is that no one can tell you what to do. I'm not using a HU, but that's me. there are a lot of people on here who still use them. It's individual preference as to what you do and why you do it.

Chances are, there will be another buyer for your head unit if this guy isn't willing to wait.

friendly bunch on here it seems.not. as for begging forget it i'm british ..my question was not a decision which way to go but what seems to be the best option in peoples opinion with the carputer i have , as the faq was inconclusive.
    or should i say......
1/ is it better to use my car stereo for the sound system plus fm radio via aux input
2/ or buy a external sound card and some sort of fm radio card which looking at my system would have to be usb connection not pci

or is this too much to ask on this forum of nice peeps??

    *sigh*

    1) what does being british have to do with anything??

    2) What IS better? IS there ANYTHING that's actually better than another option? What IS better for YOU? Because what IS better for ME probably isn't better for YOU. THAT's why we're telling you to do your own research.

If you don't think you can do without a HU, keep it, if you think you can do without it, ditch it. Pretty simple really.

If you're going to ditch it, you need to find out how you're going to get your signal to your audio system.

As far as information, we're pointing you to it. If you don't want to do anything with the information we're directing you to, that's not our fault.
You've been given pointers to all the information you need to make this decision. If you can't make the decision, then we really can't help you. It's your decision to make, plain and simple.

As to your headunit question, in my opinion, it boils down to a couple of questions that we are unable to answer for you:
    1) Do you need to have AM/FM radio? If you do, then keep the headunit.
    2) Do you need/want to install amplifier(s) in your car? If so, then you could go either way, and should revert to #1 above.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
