f1vlad hahahaha ur funny, not everyone is pro as u .. anyway ok thanks guys but it seems so hard to get an answer.. thnak u Red GTi VR6 u been so helpful ill do my best.
The questions aren't stupid, they're just impossible to answer. It's sort of like asking somebody what kind of house you should buy or what kind of person you should marry. The answer depends on what you're looking for.
There is a wealth of information available in this forum and by doing the research you will eventually be able to answer your own questions. I know that I spent at least fifty hours reading before I finally figured out the system design that I wanted.
That being said, I think you'll find that a laptop-based system will be more difficult to use and much less customizable than a desktop-based system.

Sorry, Red, my response mirrored yours. I guess you were typing a little faster than I was.
Just trying to make mods jobs easier, I still consider myself new, and not tryign to be smartas. :\
I read everything I could, looked at dozens of installs and saw what other people had already done (re-inventing the wheel sucks), planned for 3 months, read some more, bought my equipment, read more, set it up on my kitchen table, read some more, had the whole install done in a weekend basically.
Look at the FAQ's, look at the "Worklogs" and :Show off your Project" forums for some great info. Don't forget the links at the top.

No worries! You want to make sure that you've at least prepared a little for the questions you are going to ask. While I am fairly new to this forum, I've been online for a few years now...just reading...and reading...and gathing more information as I go.
The biggest problem(one of them) is when people post questions in threads about stuff that was just stated a couple of posts above it.
For example, my worklog thread shows the case/computer I am using along with the link to the information on that system. I got a post asking me the dimentions of it. Not a hude deal, but if he would have looked for 2 seconds he would have found the information right in front of him. I can understand it if there were 30 pages worth of info, but there were barely 2 at that point...
Good luck on your install and welcome to the site!
