    No VGA signal?

I just got my carpc wired up and in the car but i have a problem. When it turns out I get an annoying beep from the mobo and my lilliput says "No VGA signal". The cable is connected well and screwed in. Also, should I be putting in the Epia disk when i start the computer or just go to the WinXP disk.

    Epia M10k
    Kingston 512 ram
    Western Digital 80 gig
    Opus 90 watt
    Panasonic slim slot load cd/rw
    Lilliput 7"

is the pc actually booting or isnt it and thats why you have no vga signal? check its its booting if it isnt then check your install particularly the ram. What patern of beeps is it making?

it beeps once every 3 seconds or so....i'm not sure if its booting. The PS is on, the hd is on, the fan on the mobo is on, and the cd-rom has power

    PaulM,
repetitive beeping tells you that the PC is failing its Power On Self Test (POST). Something pretty fundamental, though probably easily fixed, is wrong.

Things to check (in a fairly sensible order):
    1) Is the CPU fan spinning? if not check the fan power cable and that there is nothing obstructing the fans movement
    2) Are you using a PCI card (Sound/WiFi etc...)? Try removing this and attempt to boot. If this then works try reseating the card ensuring the pins are fully into slot and the card is stable.
    3) RAM. Check that your ram is seated correctly. Poke it (with the power off) the RAM should be solidly attached to the board. Remove and re-seat just in case.
    4) CPU. Usually the most fiddly to get to, thats why I save it for last. take it out, check for damaged pins. re-seat.

I hope some of this helps. Congrats on having a working screen, PSU and beepy speaker too

repetitive beeps that are the same length are most likely an indicator of ram. Do you have any other ram you could try?
