    Newbie with coding questions...

OK, first off, I'm a PowerBuilder programmer. More than likely, I'll do my front-end in PowerScript, so I doubt there will be a whole lot of actual coding help out here for me. What I'd like to know is what everyone's favorite method for obtaining playback and the like is. I've been messin' around with Windows Media Player (wmp.dll) for a while now, and can get all of my basic stuff to work fine, but I'm thinkin' that for my actual in-truck application, I'm gonna want more functionality. I know that there's other methods like using WinAmp, but don't really think I want to go that route. Just wanted to get some ideas of what everyone thought.

    Thanks...

I'm looking into VLC. Where would I be able to find some support documentation? (so I can use it with my front-end) Their website/forums seem to be focused strictly on setting it up just to play like WMP.

I know this sounds bad, but what would the easiest library(s) be, just to get playback, and file info?

    you slacker!

look for info on the RC interface, and sending commands via a TCP socket. you can pretty much do all you need using that.

Sorry, but what is the RC interface? I'm lazy and haven't been around this enough to know all the acronyms yet!

Also, where should I ask any questions dealing with the WMP.dll at?
