    New Here, Couple Questions..

My name's Ricky, just started reading up on Carputers since I may finally have a car with enough room to try something like that in.. (Maybe a 94 Accord soon) so trunk space, etc.. while now I have a 93 Toyota that is bodydropped, etc so no room for anything lol.

My question first of all, is if I already have a few older computers.. desktop computers of course, is it possible to use one of those? I see all of these low profile/smaller ones when browsing the forums.. but I'm limited on cash and already have these old computers.. they run Windows 98 or XP fine, I can always upgrade parts.. but for the basic system for playing MP3s, ect.. maybe wireless internet someday would this work somehow?

For anyone who used an actual home computer case even.. please give me some input , pics are always great too. Thanks everyone!

Eh, you can put anything you want in there. My first carPC was an original Pentium processor. I think a 166. It ran DOS and mpxplay. Output was to a 4x20 character LCD. It just depends on what you want to do with it.

You say "older computers", how old are we talking? Nobody will be able to help you much if you don't post specs.

When i think of old computers, I think of 486's, DX4 100s, Pentium 120s, ya know the stuff I grew up fixing. But old computers to someone else might be considered Pentium IIIs.
