    Need help/info choosing computer setup

I have got everythign i need to hook together my carputer except for the actual computer, I am considering using an old laptop off of ebay that some one is selling because the screen is bad. I am curious as to what (if any) Kind of issues people have run into when using a laptop as a carputer. One of the main reasons want to use a laptop is so i can pull it out of the car when i leave it for the night becuase it does get quite cold in the winter here and id like to keep it indoors where it wont be subject to thermal shock and or condensation.

If i dont use a laptop I am curious about where i can mount a regular mini-atx computer so that i dont have to fear too much about vibrations, temperature, things getting spilled on it etc. while still being able to get to the dvd drive when necessary.

Are there any horror stories about cold weather damaging the computer half of theyre setup?

MY current plan is as follows
Get a head unit with an Aux input, a 4ch. amp the 7" liliput motorized indash screen and an SWI-X controller so that i can still use my controlls for volume etc. that are on the steering wheel.

And since i probly need to mention this the car I am doing this in is a 2002 Monte Carlo SS

Thankyou in advance for your help / suggestions.
