so i guess the mother board is ok to use...
as long as you can power it/make it fit
ANYTHING will work
motherboard/ram/hard drives.., they all will work
mind you, most people try to go low power, since visual performance isnt really why people build carputers in the first place
im not very familiar with the power supply thing... i was thinking of just using the one from the computer itself....
does anyone know anything about this board or know why it wouldnt work...
read the FAQ's
You can't just plug in the motherboard into a power socket and be on your way...
any computer parts will work inside the car, just like any computer parts will work in your home.
powering it/mounting it are all issues that are very different in the car from in the home.
im reading the faq's right now... im just not sure if this cpu will kill my electrical system or not...
Make sure you read the "Power supplies - explained" thread, then.
It is unlikely that CPU will kill your electrical system, but make sure you have a good idea of what you're doing before you wire it up. Read about selecting the proper wire gauge size and ensure that you fuse it properly as well.

well fellas heres my newest dilemma, i can either use the board listed above, or i can use a gateway solo 2500 that i ran across today... it admit the 2500 doesnt seem to be big enough for what i want, but would also be easier to install and wouldnt have to go through the power supply dillema...
so which would you prefer, i can get pc parts for relatively cheap if not free, (im an is tech) so far i havent spent any cash... and ive picked up a 40 gig hard drive... so.. what do ya think.
thought maybe i should list what im wanting this pc to do.
GPS
MAME
EMULATORS AND ROMS
DVD,VCD,SVCD PLAYER.
i think that about covers it. ill still be running my pioneer premier headunit for music and sirius.
