Bored with my 2002 Explorer....

So I want to do a project involving it

Howdy Everyone!

I am interested in replacing my Harmon Koden Drive + Play IPOD MP3 Player and my Magellan GPS 760 with a more all in one solution!

I have been looking around for a bit, and am still in the dark a bit about all this. Basically I want an all in one solution that can do GPS, MP3's, CD's, possibly DVD (not a MUST), and have a touch screen. Of course I'd like it to look a bit snazzy .

I'm open to suggestions! Thanks in advance for any leads/advice.

Search the forums. A carpc can do all of these things. Look in the mp3car store. There are all in one preassembled pcs there. Its gonna cost ya tho

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I have been eyeing a lot of units, and started to feel the whole DVD Navigation thing is not a requirement, just a nifty plus.

In all my ventures I have found that, as well as the Alpin Unit

They both seem to do what I want (DVD + Ipod + Double Din) Just not sure which one to go for.

Opinions? Does anyone here have any experience with either unit? THanks in advance.

welcome to the fourm, but you are coming to the wrong place if you want to buy a manufactured dvd/nav unit. if you are interested in being a man (or woman...if you're female) and making something truely unique then come on in and search a bit. I got my g/f a pioneer avic d2 last year for her b-day and i have to say...it's crap compared to the car pc! it's not all that bad actually...it does what it is meant to do but you ahve a lot of restrictions and it's hard to upgrade without replacing the whole thing.

so do a few searches and check out the install forum and come on over to the dark side.

The Car Pc I looked at for quite a bit, but to be honest, its a bit much for me in all honesty! Though I have to say, it does add a lot of cool value.

ha...i forgot to add the smileys but i'm glad you got my sarcasm and humor. It really isn't all that hard to do though, just time consuming. We are all here to help you overcome obstacles along the way if you choose to come on board
