HELP!!! I have alot of stuff, but don't know how to do it!!!

    Hey all!

I am new, and i have been looking for something like this for months!!! I have experience in building pc's and a little experience with mac's. I think i have most of the stuff to do it. Here's what i got!

    P3 Motherboard
    2 sticks of PC100 128ram (fits board)
    80GB HDD
    40GB HDD
    10GB HDD
    60GB Laptop HDD
PowerBook G4 (with problems so it can be parted)
    2 Laptop CD-Rom Drives
    1 External DVD Burner
    1 Internal DVD Burner
2 G3 Imac Slot Loading DVD-Rom Drives (not sure if they work)
    2-4 Regular CD Burners
    3 or 4 AC-DC Power Supplies (but i don't think i can use those)
1 or 2 Gravis Gamepad PRO USB Controllers
Imac G3 Keyboard and mouse (a few sets)
Modded PSOne with LCD Screen (which i do not use anymore)
    27 CompaQ Microphones
    2 Stylishly looking I-Mac Speakers
2 Soldering irons that need tips
    Imac G3 Logicboard
A Playstation2 That could be parted out (because it is broken)
    A Fully Functional Playstation2

Some Extra Fans, heatsinks, CMOS Batteries, Power Cords, and i think some IDE Ribbon Cables.

All of this stuff is just sitting in dust!!! I Might as well use it, how much money do you think it's going to cost?

I would also like to know if there is any way i could get a clear picture on my psone Screen, if so, can i take just the screen out of plastic caseing and make a custom one (so it's not obvious that it came out of the PSOne)

I want it to look really nice, i have a 1997 Acura 3.0 CL with 8.5 in of space where the cd and casette deck's are.(so i could probobly fit an 8" LCD in there).

Any Advice would be greatly apreciated!!!

    thank you

    -Thomas Johnson

    WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION?

Put together a computer, and install it in the car. That is basically all you have to do.

Expect to spend several hundred extra for a screen and wiring and fabrication materials to make it look nice.

    My Question?

I Wanna know how much it's all going to cost with the stuff i have, and don't i have to have a DC-DC Power Supply? I can get a power inverter for cheaper!

"I would also like to know if there is any way i could get a clear picture on my psone Screen, if so, can i take just the screen out of plastic caseing and make a custom one (so it's not obvious that it came out of the PSOne)" (HENCE I wanna make it look nice) Or is it worth using that screen?

Here is some info to help with that. A lot, in fact. Read this as well.

There's a lot of stuff out there about playstation screens. There's a lot more about inverters vs. dc power supplies. There is an entire FAQ devoted to different options for powering your setup. We really can't tell you anything till you research a bit on your own.

It will cost you $45. No, wait, it will cost you $450. No wait, it will cost you $1,000.

As Michael said, what is your question? It is unlikely that someone on this forum will take a look at your parts list and walk you through how to build a car PC from your parts bin.

However, we can and usually will, easily answer questions like, "I've got all this stuff and I think I can make a car PC out of it. However, I'm stuck on how to power it. Aren't inverters cheaper and why would I want to use one of those special, high priced car power supplies?

This will earn you advice from most to read the FAQ's for the answers. This is because you aren't the first person to ask these questions and thus, we've written it all down for you.

You can use a PSone screen. Search on terms PSone. Check the LCD display forum for possible leads.

    OK TIME TO SIMPLIFY!!!

Is it worth using my psone screen, how is the picture quality compared to a vga lcd screen? Thats my question!!!

What in the heck are you talking about?

Question, i have a motherboard that i can get to power on, but i don't get any picture, do you think maybe the onboard video has been disabled?

Also, do i need an expencive motherboard and fast computer? Can't i just disable most of the irq's and strip down windows? I have a PIII motherboard with 2 128 sticks of ram PC100

Does anyone have a stripped down verson of windows xp? I heard there was one that could load in half a second?
