    K301 / MTSVO-SC wiring problems.

    Hi,

I'm trying to do a bench test with the k301 by connecting the pc power brick to the cnx-p1900. the power up runs fine when i short the ignition line from the cnx to the power line but the thing is, the monitor doesn't seem to turn on. i see a fuse holder with some small pair of "5v fuses inside?" from the monitor's yellow wire. do i have to short that too to turn on the monitor?

first time doing something like this but there's no write up on these monitors.

i'll have some pics of what i'm talking about later tonight.

Both the red and the yellow need to have power to them for the monitor to come on, and of course you need to have ground going to the black. I cant remember which way round the wire colours are (red/yellow) but one is permanent power and the other is switched acc power. There is a huge sticker on the top of the 301 that will tell you which way round they are.

wait.. so the yellow (which on mine has a fuse and says +12DC on the sticker) and the red (Accon) have to have power to it? can i just tie them together to the same power source? and when you say switched acc.. that's ignition right? but it just stays on for a second....

to test it yes you can tie them together but you will have to put the yellow to the battery or permanent supply and the red to a switched supply, ignition. If you put them both to a permanent supply it wont switch off properly or if you put them both to a switched supply it wont remember its settings.

alright.. everything's working now but sometimes when i just do this bench test, the screen opens in increments when it's completely open or closed. i've noticed that it does this when it's been on for a while and when it's off completely then on again, it doesn't do that...

does this happen to others? is this normal? is the speed of this thing set? it's kinda slow when it opens and closes..

speed is set and when its wired properly you can use the up down buttons to set the angle of the display. When its switched off and back on it will go back to where you set it.
