    Laptop startup in E46

    Hi guys,

newbie to this forum & carpc altogether. have been looking through & serching the forums for all sort of interesting & enlightening installs. now this post may be in the wrong forum however since i am a newbie, i'm not quite sure where to post, so apologies.

anyway to begin, i am in the planning phase of my laptop (IBM thinkpad X21) install in my E46. i plan to use the light in the footwell that comes on when u unlock the door to power on the laptop, so that when i'm in the car, sit down & start the car, the laptop has already booted.

decided to go with the docking station approach, & solder the power button on that. many problems arose from that as in when people open the car door or whatever makes the light come on after the laptop has booted up will depress the button again, thus shutting down the laptop.

need an opinion on this relay setup to overcome this. will it work you think? can anyone point out possible flaws in my logic?
Acc only has signal when key is turned 1 click i think.
Laptop (Windows XP) set to standby when button press.
    Hibernate when battary reach 75%
